Description: Part of Global Eyes is a collaborative exhibition put on by the Visual Culture and Media pathway. The common theme that unites these works is experimentation with a documentary aesthetic, as well as an adherence to a collaborative and/or reflexive approach, whereby the artists/ethnographers have sought to ensure that their participants’ voices are present throughout the work. These eight visual anthropologists have created work that transcends the notion of documenting an “exotic other” and seeks to promote greater understanding:
